Count only the improvement over your basic card

For an EUR household budget in Spain, compare a paid tier with the basic card you could otherwise use. Rewards already available on that basic option are not an upgrade benefit. Apply eligible-purchase rules, monthly caps and exclusions before multiplying an advertised higher rate by your whole spending budget.

Value lounge access or service discounts according to use you actually expect. Counting the full price of a subscription you would never buy can inflate the result. Calculate a spending threshold with hypothetical inputs

For illustration only, assume an extra monthly subscription cost of €8, another €2 of additional costs and an extra usable reward of 1% over the basic card. Recovering €10 requires €1,000 of eligible monthly spending. These invented inputs explain arithmetic and are not any provider’s verified price or reward.

If the additional reward were capped at €7 per month in that same hypothetical example, higher spending would never recover the €10 cost. Divide incremental fixed costs by the realizable incremental net reward rate, then inspect caps. Include increases in exchange or funding costs and remove benefits you cannot use.

Separate a subscription from locked capital

Crypto.com’s subscription route and CRO lockup or staking route are different commitments. Locked capital is not an annual fee consumed by the provider, but it remains exposed to price changes and access restrictions. Keep the decision to commit savings separate from the arithmetic of earning card rewards on ordinary purchases.

Before joining, save the renewal date, actual billed currency and annual or monthly cycle. Level Up cancellation is managed through Manage subscription and Cancel subscription; cancelling does not release CRO before maturity. Check when cancellation takes effect so a one-month evaluation is not mistaken for a one-month total commitment.
