Choose ether.fi Direct Pay or RedotPay with a one-month plan

Compare funding, billing currency and upkeep against the same payment list as a Korea resident.

The essentials

  • Choose the card whose verified funding route fits your planned USD subscriptions and KRW purchases.
  • For Direct Pay, count only eligible USDC or LiquidUSD; for RedotPay, check your actual card currency.
  • Before increasing your budget, assess a full settled billing cycle, including top-ups and time spent managing it.

Build a comparable basket

Imagine a Korea resident paying two dollar subscriptions and one won-priced online order each month. Write down each merchant, billing date, currency and required card format. Use purchases already planned; changing your spending to suit one candidate makes the comparison less useful and can hide an inconvenient funding routine.

Then mark where the money for each payment sits today. Separate USDC already held from funds you would newly acquire with won, and check whether the funding route is actually available to you. If one route is unresolved, leave that part unconfirmed instead of giving it an optimistic convenience score.

Verify mode and billing currency

Ether.fi Direct Pay uses eligible USDC or LiquidUSD balances. Holding other assets therefore does not establish that your monthly spending budget is ready. If the setup presents an unfamiliar mode, inspect the selected mode and available spending amount before your first purchase, then record both alongside the payment plan.

RedotPay says cards newly issued from January 21, 2026 are USD cards. Check the currency in the app if you have an older card. Compare dollar subscriptions in USD, then record the actual conversion outcome separately for the won order; one product can produce different results across these two uses.

Make the decision after one billing cycle

Define success as a completed payment, its final cost and the time spent managing it. You do not need to issue both cards to compare them. Verified conditions can already eliminate a route that is cumbersome or unsuitable for a required payment, allowing much of the worksheet to be completed before any issuance expense.

For the candidate you use, assess a full settled billing cycle rather than an attractive first week. Record funding frequency and unresolved items next to costs. A card that suits dollar subscriptions but complicates domestic orders may deserve a narrower role. The final choice still depends on reviewing your individual application as a Korea resident.

Which option fits your situation?

01

Choose ether.fi Direct Pay if USDC or LiquidUSD already sits in your Vault and you intend to spend it. Confirm Korean eligibility and select Direct Pay.

02

Choose RedotPay if you already hold supported assets such as USDT for dollar subscriptions. A compatible deposit and payment asset can avoid an advance swap into Direct Pay assets.

03

Keep your existing KRW card if your salary and shopping are in won and its terms suit you. One hypothetical US$20 subscription need not move the whole household budget.
