Spain: Bybit EU versus Nexo Debit for euro spending

The essentials

  • Choose between Bybit EU’s Funding Account and Nexo Debit using the balance you already hold.
  • Do not count Nexo Credit rewards in Debit; confirm your own card eligibility before funding.
  • Expect refunds in EUR on Bybit EU, or EURx/GBPx on Nexo according to card currency, rather than restored crypto.

Start with the money you already have

For someone receiving salary in EUR in Spain, compare an EUR-funded purchase with spending crypto already held. Bybit EU uses the Funding Account for card spending. Check the available balance there instead of assuming there is a separate prepaid card wallet that needs another top-up.

Nexo Debit spends your own available assets, with the selected asset order affecting the payment route. Give both candidates the same grocery budget and record each step from funding to settled debit. Include buying crypto only when that purchase is actually necessary for your starting balance.

Confirm Debit and your own eligibility

Do not transfer a Nexo Credit Mode reward claim into this Debit comparison. If borrowing is outside your plan, inspect the selected mode and spending assets before paying. The relevant benefit is the one attached to that setting, after exclusions, rather than the largest advertised number.

Residence in Spain and European citizenship are different facts. Check Nexo’s residence, citizenship and accepted identity-document conditions together. Bybit EU can also require card-specific verification; approval of a general account does not establish that your card application or physical delivery will be accepted.

Follow the balance through a first refund

For an ordinary EUR purchase in Spain, retain the euro receipt alongside the final settled debit. If crypto funded the payment, retain the quantity consumed too, so the conversion has an observable result. An initial authorization alone is insufficient for judging the completed purchase cost.

Bybit EU refunds return as EUR to the Funding Account rather than restoring the original crypto quantity. Nexo records refunds in EURx or GBPx matching the initially selected card currency. Reconcile the merchant confirmation with the actual credit before deciding which route is easier to manage.

  • Record the asset used for funding.
  • Verify the mode and spending asset.
  • Record the refund currency and destination.

Which option fits your situation?

01

Choose Bybit EU if EUR is already in your Funding Account for euro living costs. With enough EUR available, the purchase does not require crypto conversion.

02

Choose Nexo Debit if you already hold Nexo assets and want to rank several spending assets. Meet its European citizenship, residence and ID conditions; Credit cashback does not belong in this comparison.

03

Keep your ordinary euro card if salary stays in your bank and groceries are the main task. A hypothetical €300 monthly grocery budget alone need not justify another funding route.
